It’s been a busy start to the Fall season here at TII as we put in place a new e-Learning platform and streamline our training offerings for the 2015 calendar year. We are excited that delegates attending our training conferences in the New Year will see a series of coordinated educational programs that integrate fully into our e-Learning offerings. We are also looking forward to announcing a compelling new range of specialized training programs that will focus on subject areas as digital privacy and security aimed at front line workers and senior executives alike.

We are taking time over these summer months to rest (just a little) after the busiest first two quarters in our company’s history and prepare for what is shaping up to be an exciting Fall season.

With updated curriculums, our next Canadian-based 3-day Advanced Internet Intelligence Training conferences will be in Vancouver at the Pan Pacific Hotel September 22 – 24, 2014 and Toronto at the Royal York Hotel October 6 – 8, 2014. We will also be conducting a 2-day Advanced Online OSINT workshop in Hong Kong April 2nd to 3rd, 2014, and presenting our bi-annual 3-day Internet Intelligence Training conference at the University of Cambridge in conjunction with our friends at the International Chamber of Commerce, Commercial Crime Services, April 7th to 9th, 2014.

In this first newsletter of 2014, we’d like to wish our friends, partners and clients a very happy and prosperous New Year. In this edition of the Online Research and Intelligence Newsletter, we are pleased to present a comprehensive article discussing the impact of technology on domestic violence investigations written by TII President, Julie Clegg. For almost two decades, Julie has been working passionately to address domestic violence and its effects, first as a police officer and then in her position as President of the Ishtar Transition Housing Society in Langley, BC. Julie regularly speaks on issues relating to technology, violence and threat assessment at conferences and training seminars around the world.

This month we are pleased to bring you articles by guest authors Allan Rush and Mike Ryan as well as our regular listings of Research Resources and articles of interest to the Open Source Intelligence professional.

The last 6 weeks have been busy with open and bespoke courses being delivered to private and public sector clients in North America, Europe and Asia. We’ve been seeing an increase in enrollment on our Using the Internet as an Investigative Research Tool™ and the Introduction to Intelligence Analysis e-Learning programs, and interest in our new courses relating to Financial Crime, Online Security and OSINT Project Management has been high, with clients now booking in-house training courses in these subject areas.
