An experienced instructor and subject matter expert in intelligence, security and strategy, Carina designs and facilitates a wide range of courses for Toddington International. These include critical thinking, intelligence collection, strategic intelligence analysis, tradecraft and investigative techniques. Carina has trained a variety of overt and covert units from around the world in policing, military and law enforcement, as well as investigative and threat intelligence teams within Fortune 500 companies.

Carina holds a Master of Strategic Studies from the Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies.  A subject matter expert in extremist radicalisation and counterterrorism, Carina has been funded by the Department of National Defence and the Government of Canada to conduct cutting-edge research into extremist use of social media and online vectors of radicalization.

She combines this subject matter expertise with her advanced qualifications in several psychometric assessments pertaining to leadership, personality and behavioural analysis. Carina is frequently engaged by groups in the policing and military world for training on cognitive optimization, targeting and psychographic analysis, enhancing performance in high optempo environments, team dynamics and behavioural optimization.
Certified as an executive coach through the International Coach Federation, Carina brings a dynamic and interactive approach to teaching that complements her decade of experience in academia as an award-winning university instructor, where she focused on enabling the deep work that is required of critical and creative thinkers. An expert practitioner in HUMINT, SOCMINT and online engagement, she has worked at both the tactical and analytical levels, acquiring extensive online investigative skills and novel techniques.  She has shared her findings internationally.

Carina’s goal for clients is to help them develop the ability to shift between operational and analytical mindsets, and develop deeper cognitive awareness.  She works to ensure clients have the tactical and strategic mental tools needed to exploit rapid technological change, and challenges them to develop the creativity to stay ahead of a constantly shifting threat landscape.
